Paragons of Xithea

Maggie Opoku hates her life. She’s tired of this world. Her mom is gone. Killed in a freak accident. No one understands what happened and no one knows why she’s alive. Maggie doesn’t either. The day of her mother’s funeral she’s set on ending it all. On the day of her mother’s funeral she’s set on ending it all. But before she can a mysterious woman arrives, offering her the Power of the Paragon, an ancient ability that grants the user the power of a superhero.

She thinks she’s found the right gig: save a few people, stave off her depression, stay alive another day. But when an unknown boy comes to town and shares the truth behind her power, her world shatters. This is an action-adventure mystery written for a teenage and young adult audience. We’ll be going on a harrowing journey with Maggie as she battles against various foes, her ability, and herself.

Maggie is a young girl who lost her mother in a freak accident. She is not dealing with the loss well. After becoming a Paragon she tries to focus on her job, until she gets devastating news from Chris.

She has a bit of a vindictive and sassy spirit hidden beneath her polished exterior, choosing only to reveal it around her most trusted companions.

He’s small and sticks to his studies, knowing that education will be the way to get his family out of the poverty mess they suffer from.

Jocelyn Evans

Producer

Jocy is an ambitious producer and screenwriter from Adelaide, South Australia, who has gained experience from working on Australian television productions, writing and producing live comedy shows for festivals including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and working on Hollywood feature films.

Her first experience working in the animation world was in 2022 where she was an animation production co-ordinator for Piece by Piece (2024), a LEGO movie about the life and career of the hip-hop artist and producer Pharrell Williams, which was directed by Academy Award-winning documentarian, Morgan Neville. Most recently she has helped produce VFX at Rising Sun Pictures in Adelaide where she helped deliver work for Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2 (2025) and the upcoming Mortal Kombat II (2026).

Jocy is driven to help tell stories that make people feel less alone, loves to make everything pink, and will never miss an opportunity to pat a friendly dog.

Leonardo Cohen

Producer/Video Editor

Leonardo Cohen is a Mexican producer and visual storyteller with a background in audiovisual production and marketing. With hands-on experience across various short films, music videos, and TV sets he has developed strong skills in production design, direction, and coordination.

He has also produced and directed independent projects showcased at festivals and delivered client work across Canada and Mexico. He is currently based in Burnaby, B.C., and brings a bout of creativity, discipline, and cross-functional production knowledge to every project he joins.

Nick Mahoney

Producer/Video Editor

Nick is a technical artist by day, producer by night – here to help push and shape “PARAGONS OF XITHEA” to be the best it can be. Graduating with a 3D Technical Arts and Animation degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2024, Nick has since worked as a 3D rigging artist on countless short films and indie games.

He is most known for his production and behind-the-scenes experience on “Jazz Man”, “Phantom Fun Arcade”, and the fan-remake movie, “The SpongeBob Movie Rehydrated”. When not rotting on a computer, Nick loves hiking, cooking, and trying new cafes/restaurants.

Daniel Murillo

Associate Producer

A current student at California State University, Daniel is already a powerhouse in the indie animation scene. While going for his BFA in Entertainment Art/ Animation and an MFA, Daniel is already the founder of Daniel Animations LLC, working with a dedicated team of animators and musicians to create the pilot episode of his first show, “Phantom Fun Arcade”.

With Andres Issac Alvarez’s blessing, he has already ventured out into the world, striving to connect with other creatives and help the indie animation scene grow. By joining “PARAGONS OF XITHEA” as an Associate Producer, he hopes to take it and Prosperity Studios to new heights.

Elizabeth Ababio

Founder / Director / Showrunner

From the young age of four, Elizabeth has always had a strong love for film and television.

Self-publishing her own novel at the age of 16, Elizabeth went on to study 2D Animation at the Art Institute of Vancouver before switching majors to Film and TV Screenwriting and Directing at Langara College.

During school she directed Detective Ultra, a 3 minute short film that ended up being selected for the Whistler Film Festival’s Student Film section. She then began working in the film industry, very recently making the Top 5 finalists for the 20th anniversary of the Mighty Asian Moviemaking Marathon under the Vancouver Asian Film Festival, beating out of 200+ applicants and directing a vertical film series for it.

Elizabeth Ababio

Margaret (Maggie) Opoku

Having performed in live theatre shows and plays since she was 8 years old, Elizabeth was more than happy to take on the role of Maggie Opoku. As well as a director and screenwriter, Elizabeth is also an actress, working in the live action industry in both principal and background roles. Recently she starred in Shakespeare Sings, an original musical based around Shakespeare’s most popular stageplays at the 41st Vancouver Fringe Festival. Now she is ready to take on the world of voice acting!
