HAVE QUESTIONS? WE HAVE THE ANSWERS!

Question 1: What's the difference between 2D and 3D animation?

– 2D animation relies on images drawn in two dimensions and animated frame by frame to create movement. It’s often used for cartoons, commercials, or instructional videos.

– 3D animation, on the other hand, uses three-dimensional models created in specialized software. It offers greater depth and realism, and is commonly used in films, video games, and high-end advertising.

An indie animated studio is basically a regular animated studio, just independent! We fund everything ourselves, having sole ownership of our studio and its properties. Sometimes we work with third-party investors but at its core, we call the shots.

Mahou shoujo (or magical girl) is a Japanese fantasy subgenre of anime, manga, and other media centered on young girls who possess magical abilities. Have you seen Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Pretty Cure, Madoka Magica, or Tokyo Mew Mew? Basically that.

The founder of our studio grew up watching anime from a young age, with shows like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, InuYasha, Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z powering her influence. Anime was a time she and her mother could sit down and enjoy something together. The debut of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ sparked in her the dream to create her own IP, made in the same style, clarity and world-building as that show. Prosperity Studios follows her vision of creating American shows in the style of Japanese anime.

Although mahou shoujo is amazing, one thing we noticed is that it rarely features black characters. And even if they were present, they would be placed in the narrative as the side character, friend, villain, or background character. We sought to create an opening in that niche, introducing our own individual that can easily fit into the mold of that genre without disturbing what makes it great.

We want to prove to not only Hollywood executives, those that look down on animation and ourselves that animation (whether 2D, 3D, stop motion, claymation or any other form) is not an afterthought. It is not a “kiddie form of media”. It is a viable medium that deserves to win as many Oscars and Emmys as the next black and white Oscar-bait film being released.

We would kindly ask that you don’t. Not only because we can’t verify them thoroughly, but there is a process in analyzing potential IPs. If you would like to submit your materials, please go to our CONNECT WITH US page.

Yes please! We absolutely love to see how creative and talented our fanbase is. You can email us at prosperitystudiosoff@gmail.com or tag us on your social media account. We’ll give you a shout-out.

At the moment, no. But there will come a time where we have a PO box open to receive fan gifts.

Absolutely! You can give us a one-time donation over on Ko-Fi, apply for membership on our Patreon, or wait to help us crowdfund on Kickstarter. There will be amazing tiers and prizes you can win once the campaign is launched. Thank you for your continued support!
